Community social platform · Production-style portfolio build

Yapster

A social product built around communities, not a toy feed. A community-first social platform with publishing, threaded discussion, realtime messaging, moderation, discovery and permission-aware backend rules.

THE PROBLEM

What this build had to prove.

Build enough of the social graph, community model and trust tooling for the product to feel like a platform rather than a collection of screens.

Yapster uses a typed React frontend with TanStack Query and a Supabase backend for Auth, PostgreSQL, Storage and Realtime. Permission-sensitive actions are reinforced with Row Level Security, while the frontend handles the product experience and cache orchestration.
